In a Nutshell  In a Nutshell
If you have been out of the water for five years or more, you will probably have forgotten a good deal of your Open Water training. Even if you have advanced certifications, any automatic responses you had developed over years of diving, will be dulled by now or even entirely gone. This is where this program comes in.
After you complete a theoretical program, we will review with you what you have re-learned on land, at the surface and underwater. We will customize theory and in-water review to your original  skill level to jumpstart your memory. After the review we go on an easy Open Water dive for more practice and fun.

What to Expect  What to Expect
If you have gone diving a lot in your life, a significant break in your practice will have buried your relevant skills deep down in your brain. You will probably be surprised how quickly and thoroughly your memory will come back, but it is much safer and more comfortable to restart this process in a specialized setting, rather than just jumping off a boat and hoping it will come back to you. Also, gear and communal practices change all the time, so it is helpful to get an update on that as well.

If you have not done a lot of diving and have been out of the water for such a long time, this course serves as a condensed version of a certification program to completely retrain you. We review and have you practice almost all the skills from your Open Water class until we are sure you will be safe and confident on the follow-up Open Water dive.

How to Prep  How to Prep

Complete your theoretical studies before your in-water class! You can do this online. The E-Learning for this course is $65. Depending on how much you remember it might be quite a lot of material, so in that case do not wait until you come here. Be prepared for our quizzing you before we enter the water. It will save time and make the review portion of this class shorter and get you to the in-water portion quicker.
Also make sure to review this medical form. If there are any questions you answer with Yes, you will need to take the form to a physician and get their clearance. This is very important! A Yes-answer without a doctor’s signature will disqualify you from participating without being eligible for a refund!
If your eyesight is significantly diminished, let us know in advance! We might be able to supply you with a special mask, but we will have to specially prepare for that.
Wear your bathing suit and bring a towel. If your sunscreen includes oxybenzone or octinoxate, do not use it before entering the water. It will hurt the reef you want to admire! We have reef-safe sun screen for sale if you need some. Just ask us!
We will bring plenty of water and some small snacks. If you require anything special, please bring it with you.

Where to Go from Here  Where to go from Here
You have restarted your dive practice because you love diving. Now do it! Many people do not realize that you do not have to wait for your next exotic vacation to be able to go diving. Even in a lot of land-locked places dive centers exist that organize outings to nearby quarries or lakes or weekend trips to relatively close destinations.

Meeting other local divers also allows for organizing regular group journeys, and traveling in a group can get you special pricing in many dive locations. If there aren’t any dive centers where you live, perhaps there is a close by aquarium? Many aquariums have dive programs, which can be a lot of fun and connect you to other divers.

Also, get on a last-minute offers list from a travel Website to be able to jump on deals to dive destinations. Whatever you do, just keep diving!
